THE EFFECT OF DILATONS ON THE ELECTROWEAK PHASE-TRANSITION

摘要
We investigate the effect of the Jordan-Brans-Dicke dilaton field on the electroweak phase transition. We find that, contrary to the standard model without dilaton, the phase transition is first order for large Higgs-boson and t-quark masses. From experimental and theoretical bounds on Higgs-boson and t-quark masses we derive the upper bound of 20 GeV on the critical temperature Tc. © 1990.
