摘要
Elementally-substituted high Mn, high N steels have been studied as low-activation replacements for austenitic stainless steels of AISI 316, 320, 321 and FV548. Ageing at 400 degree , 650 degree and 900 degree C following solution treatment at 1150 degree C resulted in a fine grain boundary precipitation of TaC accompanied by intragranular and, in some cases, limited sigma and Laves phase precipitation. Proof stress values of 470-610 MPa and tensile strengths of 750-1000 MPa were obtained and high tensile ductility was observed. Fatigue resistance appeared to be similar to that of the established steels but creep rupture strength was lower than expected.
