MICROSCOPIC SOLVATION EFFECTS ON PURE RADIATIVE LIFETIMES OF LARGE MOLECULES IN HETEROCLUSTERS

摘要
We advance a theory of microscopic solvent perturbations of pure radiative lifetimes, tau-r, of (aromatic).(inert-gas)(n)heteroclusters, which originate from intermolecular interactions between molecular multicentre transition monopoles and atomic point transition dipoles. This theory accounts well for the experimental tau-r data of the S1 state of 9,10-dichloroanthracene.R (R = Ar, Kr, Xe) heteroclusters. Tau-r is expected to serve as a useful probe for the interrogation of structure and dynamics of isomerization in heteroclusters.
