EFFECT OF DEPOSITED COKE PROFILES ON TRANSIENT TEMPERATURES DURING REGENERATION OF A FIXED-BED CATALYTIC REACTOR

摘要
Regeneration of a coked fixed bed catalytic reactor has been carried out with different initial coke profiles representing the extremes of parallel and series coking. These coke profiles were determined by a non-invasive method, namely neutron attenuation. The temperature peaks obtained on regeneration reflected these initial coke profiles and further investigation, including partial regeneration, has led to the conclusion that under the present experimental conditions a slow oxidation process occurs ahead of the main moving combustion zone.
