RADIATION DAMPING EFFECTS ON NMR SIGNAL INTENSITIES

摘要
Preliminary data of radiation damping effects on NMR signal intensities are reported. In a sample of 90% H2O/10% D2O, where radiation damping is the dominant mechanism of the decay of the time domain proton signal, the intensity in the frequency domain versus the flip angle theta0 of the pulse shows a saw-toothed profile with positive and negative maxima at theta0 = 180-degrees +/- delta-degrees, where delta is small, respectively, rather than at 90-degrees and 270-degrees in the usual sinusoidal case.
