Laser therapy has been found effective in the management of pain associated with rheumatoid and degenerative joint arthrititis and disease.1-5 The efficacy of mid-laser therapy has been tested specifically on patients with degenerative joint disease (DJD) involving the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).6,7 The following controlled clinical study was designed to test the efficacy of mid-laser therapy to placebo therapy in the reduction of pain associated with TMJ disorders specific to arthralgic DJD.
