摘要
In agreement with the results of MNDO calculations, 2 is predominantly formed as the most stable dihydroindene isomer when the cyclopropylpentafulvene 1 (X = CH2) undergoes thermolysis in the gas phase. The analogous 6‐oxi‐ranylpentafulvene 1 (X = O) eliminates carbon monoxide under the same conditions and affords the vinylcyclopentadiene isomer 3 in high yield. (Figure Presented.)
