ELECTROCHEMICAL STUDIES OF LEAD DEPOSITION FROM ACIDIC AMMONIUM ACETATE SOLUTIONS ON DIFFERENT SUBSTRATES

摘要
The electrodeposition of lead was carried out on five substrates: C, Cu, Ag, Au and Pb from aqueous solution of 2. 5 M ammonium acetate, 2. 4 M acetic acid and 0. 11 M lead acetate or lead chloride. This solution bears practical importance in the electrometallurgy of lead. SEM, AES, X-ray diffraction and electrochemcial methods were used to find the optimum experimental conditions for the electrodeposition process. The most uniform deposit on all substrates studied was found in the potential region from minus 0. 5-0. 6 V vs Hg//2Cl//2/Hg reference. At more negative potentials a formation of dendrites was observed.
