摘要
The authors report the synthesis of palladium dimers containing methyl and hydride groups, the thermal reductive elimination of these groups, the reactions of these organometallic dimers with carbon monoxide, and the subsequent reductive elimination of acetaldehyde from the resulting acylsubstituted dimers. It is shown that the transmetalation reaction of trimethylaluminum with the palladium chloride dimer Pd2Cl2(μ-dppm)2(dppm=bis(diphenylphosphino) methane) at -78°C gave an intermediate, Pd2ClMe(μ-dppm)2, which disproportionated at approximately 10°C to yield the trans-face-to-face palladium dimer Pd2Cl2Me2(μ-dppm)2 and a palladium dimer Pd2Cl2(μ-CH2)(μ-dppm)2. The use of excess trimethylaluminum at approximately -40°C gave the dimethyl complex, Pd2Me2(μ-dppm)2.
