MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF R2FE17CX COMPOUNDS (R=Y,SM AND ER,X-APPROXIMATELY-2)

摘要
The interstitial carbides R2Fe17C(x) (x approximately 2) have been prepared by gas-phase modification with acetylene for R = Y, Sm and Er. The average iron magnetic moments derived from the magnetizations of Y2Fe17C(x) at temperatures of 1.5 K and 293 K respectively are 34.1-mu-B/f.u. and 28.9-mu-B/f.u.. The anisotropy fields of Sm2Fe17C(x) at T = 1.5 K and 293 K are respectively 21.7 T and 13.5 T. A spin reorientation transition was observed at 124 K for Er2Fe17C(x).
