摘要
A titanium alloy with 50.6 at.% Ni has been examined to ascertain how the initial state of the B2 matrix affects the formation of B19' martensite and of an R phase. Two matrix states were compared: one produced by work hardening alone, the other by work hardening and subsequent annealing at 300-900-degrees-C. Work hardening was found to influence the formation of both the R phase and B19' martensite. The work also established the critical stress level that causes stress-induced transformations of the matrix into the R or B19' phases.
