摘要
The propagation of a TE laser beam in a waveguide-nematic liquid crystal planar stack is studied as a function of an externally applied magnetic field. The power losses, depending on the molecular reorientation in the liquid crystal layer, have been both theoretically computed and experimentally measured. Possible applications of this hybrid device in integrated and guided optics are also proposed.
