摘要
The groundwater resources of the Bahamas occur in Ghyben-Hertzberg lenses and they have been quantified on nearly all of the major islands. A comparison of how these lenses vary on each island reveals how lens development is controlled by island size, shape, climate and geology. The geological controls of lens formation were poorly understood in the past but are now becoming apparent in light of recent subsurface geological research.
