摘要：

Refuse-derived compost (RDC) was produced by the mechanical separation of organic matter from mixed refuse followed by a thermophilic composting phase. At various stages of the process, dichloromethane extracts of the compost were obtained and constituents identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Unstable compost contained numerous substances of uncertain origin such as alkyl and benzyl phthalates and long-chain fatty acid esters. Stable compost contained very few extractable organic constituents.
