摘要
Mechanical properties of Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox whiskers which are composed of several plate-like single crystals stacked in a layered structure have been examined. Tensile strength, which is assumed to be an intrinsic strength of the compound, has been measured by pulling the whiskers in the direction of a-axis corresponding to the whisker axis. The maximum tensile strength and elastic modulus determined from the stress-strain curve are 940 MPa and 92 GPa, respectively.
