摘要
Chemical systems display a wide variety of pattern formation processes when they are maintained out of equilibrium by external flows of reagents. Two types of chemical patterns are discussed in this article: spiral waves and Turing patterns. The discussion of spiral waves focuses on the bifurcations of the spiral core dynamics in excitable media and the interactions among spiral waves in oscillatory media. Recent research on Turing and Turing-like bifurcations in chemical systems is described.
