摘要
The intense, high-pitched squeal generated by railway vehicles traversing narrow curves irritates passengers as well as inhabitants. A powerful model for the analysis of the squealing noise of railway wheels is presented, which includes the entire path from the excitation to the human ear. For an efficient numerical simulation of squealing noise the dynamical behaviour of linear subsystems is specified uniformly by modal degrees of freedom. It is pointed out that any predictions of squealing noise are impossible without an accurate inclusion of the sound radiation characteristics of the railway wheel. Concerning the sound radiation, numerical results are compared with measurements. Some investigations of the influence of parameters on squealing noise exemplify the wide range of possibilities of the model. © 1990.
