摘要
We have found that silver and iodine can be intercalated simultaneously into a Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy superconductor. By this intercalation, the lattice parameter along the c-axis was significantly expanded from 30.9 to 45.6(=22.8 x 2) angstrom. From X-ray diffraction analysis, it was assumed that silver and iodine atoms are inserted between double Bi-O layers in the stacking sequence of Bi-I-Ag-I-Bi, and that the stoichiometric composition is AgI2Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy. T(c)(onset) of this intercalated new material is 60.7 K, which is comparable to that of the stage-1 IBi2Sr2CaCu2Oy obtained through the same heat treatment.
