摘要
A prototype of a vertex detector with polystyrene scintillating fibres and cells with liquid scintillator using CCD readout has been studied. For the polystyrene fibres of 150 μm diameter the number of clusters per unit track length is n0 = 3.17 mm-1 with a straight-line rms residual σp {reversed tilde equals} 70 μm and a track impact parameter precision δp {reversed tilde equals} 35 μm. For the detector with the cells with liquid scintillator n0 is obtained to be 3.10 mm-1 and σliq {reversed tilde equals} 68 μm, δliq {reversed tilde equals} 33 μm. The two-track resolution is 110 μm. © 1990.
