THE 1S-SIGMA-G AND 2P-SIGMA-U STATES OF THE H-2+, D2+ AND HD+ IONS

The dissociation energies of D2+ and H-2+ are computed by a variation perturbation method for all bound 1s-sigma-g and 2p-sigma-u states and for J less-than-or-equal-to 8 and J less-than-or-equal-to 5, respectively, and for the highest (v = 21 and 22) levels of HD+. The metastable states located between the two dissociation limits of HD+ are investigated with the aid of the lifetime matrix formalism. Four such states are found, one for each J less-than-or-equal-to 3. A comparison of the present results with those obtained by other methods is briefly discussed.
