摘要
Polymerization of homologues of 1-(trimethylsilyl)-1-propyne left bracket CH//3C EQUVLNT CSi(CH//3)//3 right bracket was studied. CH//3C EQUVLNT CSi(CH//3)//2(n-C//6H//1//3) (I) polymerized with 1:1 mixtures of TaCl//5 and organometalilc cocatalysts (e. g. , Ph//4Sn and Ph//3Bi) to produce in good yields a polymer having a weight-average molecular weight (M OVER BAR //w) over 1 multiplied by 10**6. CH//3C EQUVLNT CSi(CH//3)//2Ph (II) and CH//3C EQUVLNT CSi(C//2H//5)//3 (III) formed polymers having M OVER BAR //w's of approx. 5 multiplied by 10**5 in moderate yields in the presence of TaCl//5-based catalysts. The three new polymers formed from (I)-(III) had the structure CCH//3 equals C(SiRR prime R double prime //n according to IR and **1**3C-NMR spectra. They were white solids, soluble in low-polarity solvents (e. g. , toluene and chloroform) and stable enough in air at room temperature.
