USEFULNESS OF RN, DECAY PRODUCTS OF RN, AND TH-B TO STUDY DIFFUSION IN THE LOWER ATMOSPHERE

In this paper, a set of simultaneous measurements of Rn, DRn and Th B concentrations in the atmospheric air 2 m above the ground have been carried out over a 6 month period. This research has allowed us to demonstrate that the evolutions of Rn, DRn and Th B are very similar. The parallels in the behaviour of the three tracers has been shown because they have evolved analogously in relation to the influence of the air mass and in their correlations with meteorological variables. On the other hand, the location of Málagá on the coast, with its characteristic orography, permitted us to analyze some special situations which had not previously been analyzed. © 1990.
