CHARGE-DISTRIBUTION IN HADRON-NUCLEUS COLLISIONS AND EAS STRUCTURE

摘要
Dual parton and Frithiof models predict very different behaviour as a function of the primary energy for charge distribution in the forward hemisphere concerning pi +or- and K+or--nucleus collisions. After exploration of the important consequences of extensive air showers (EAS) cascade development, it appears that the dual parton multichain model (DPM) combined with a light primary composition (average atomic mass (A)=5) is the most consistent with cosmic ray data up to energies of 5*106 GeV.
