SOME CORRELATIONS OF TRIALKYL PHOSPHATES DIMERZATION CONSTANTS

摘要
The dimerization constants of (BuO)3PO in dodecene and cyclohexane, and of (EtO)3PO in hexane, were determined by i.r. spectroscopy. The dimerization constants obtained and the others taken from the literature were correlated by means of the Hammett equation. The possibility of correlating trialkyl phosphate dimerization constants for wet and dry hexane, suggest the non-existence of a strongly bonded monohydrate, like (BuO)3PO·H2O. It seems that interaction between trialkyl phosphates and water in hexane cannot compete with the dimerization of the trialkyl phosphates. © 1968.
