摘要
The effect of the energy transfer processes on the population kinetics of laser levels in systems with one type of activator is discussed. It is shown that while for some laser systems the energy transfer is an efficiency limiting factor, for others it plays an essential role in emission. Some recent results on two important laser systems YAG:Nd and YAG:Er are discussed.
