TIME-DOMAIN FREQUENCY-SELECTIVE OPTICAL-DATA STORAGE IN A SOLID-STATE MATERIAL

摘要
The storage and regeneration of complex optical pulse shapes using coherent transient optical techniques has been demonstrated for the first time in a solid-state material (cryogenic Eu**3** plus :Y//2O//3). Regenerated pulses faithfully reproducing the temporal envelope of and O. 1 to 1 percent as intense as microseconds-long input pulses were produced after delays on the order of a minute. Maximum recall delays in previous shape reproduction experiments were six orders of magnitude shorter.
