摘要
UV photoemission spectra for photon energies hv equals 21. 1 (HeI) and hv equals 40. 8 (HeII) are used to investigate the electronic band structure of solid CsAu. The data show the positions of the occupied bands which are derived from the 6s and 5d states of Au and the 5p states of Cs. The apparent spin-orbit splitting of the 5d-orbitals of Au is found to be 2. 1 eV, i. e. 40% larger in the compound CsAu than in the Au-atom. The energetic positions of the maxima of the different spectra compared well with the density of states calculated with the relativistic KKR method.
