3-D FINITE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS FOR MOLTEN-METAL SHAPES IN AN ELECTROMAGNETIC MELTING SYSTEM

摘要
A new 3-D finite element method has been developed to obtain the 3-D shape of molten metal in an electromagnetic melting system. The advantage of this method is that the shape of molten metal, which is produced by electromagnetic forces, can be directly obtained. The validity of this new method is confirmed by experiments on a high frequency induction heater. The new method is applied to obtain the molten metal shape in a cold crucible.
