In the Sonoran Desert, SE Arizona, the authors conducted transplant experiments with adult female Urosaurus ornatus (Iguanidae) to test the hypothesis that the presence of conspecific females plays a role in their settlement and home range use. Cuing on conspecific females, however, even if present, was shown to be not sufficient for transplanted females to establish residence at unfamiliar sites. -from Authors
