摘要
This paper reports the first application of **1**3C-proton chemical shift correlation spectroscopy to a whole coal. This dimensional n. m. r. technique separates the components of the solid state proton spectrum using the chemical shifts of the **1**3C-nuclei to which the protons are bonded. The correlation of chemical shifts is useful in assigning **1**3C signals in the CP/MAS spectrum. The method is shown to be particularly useful for disentangling the overlapping bands in the aliphatic region of CP/MAS spectra and assigning them to specific functional types.
