This paper Is one of a series presented on behalf of the System Operations Subcommlttee with the Intent of focusing Industry attention on current problems faced by electric utilities In the operation of the bulk power supply system. Five short note reports are presented dealing with various cost aspects associated with Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Inadvertent energy and time error. The first report provides a general overview of some of the AGC operating costs to consider. Quantification of some of these operating costs Is outlined In the second report. Report number three deals with the 'reserve liability' and the 'rate to control' costs when purchasing AGC capability. In report four, economic Implications of Inadvertent energy are considered. In the final report, the cost Impact of time error and time error correction are presented. © 1990 IEEE
