摘要
Chromium-doped gadolinium gallium garnet (Gd3Ga5O12:Cr) shows an efficient IR luminescence. On X-ray excitation an afterglow occurs which is harmful for application in computed tomography. The mechanism of the suppression of the afterglow by cerium is elucidated in this paper.
