LASER-ASSISTED ELECTRON-IMPACT IONIZATION IN LASER-PRODUCED PLASMAS

摘要
Influence of a laser field on cross sections and rate coefficients of electron impact ionisation in laser-produced plasmas is studied. It is shown that, in the supthreshold region of the impact electron energy, ionisation is also possible and this involves the absorption of a large number of photons. This effect is large enough that it must be taken into account in studies of laser-produced plasmas. © 1990 IOP Publishing Ltd.
