OPTICAL INVESTIGATIONS OF A CDTE/(CD,ZN)TE QUANTUM-WELL SEPARATE CONFINEMENT HETEROSTRUCTURE

摘要
Optical investigations performed at 1.7 K on a quantum well (QW) separate confinement heterostructure with thick intermediate barriers reveal a type-I behavior of the 1s light hole excitonic recombination line. This behavior can be explained in terms of the Coulomb interaction between the localized electrons and the light holes. Experimental results are consistent with theoretical ones for a strain-free relative valence band offset q(v)0 > 15%.
