摘要
New results are given concerning the luminescence of a PbI2:Ag single crystal under band-to-band excitation. The luminescence decay studies reveal two main processes, namely fluorescence and phosphorescence which coexist in the 1.97 eV characteristic emission band for the doped crystal. The influence of gap localized levels involved in luminescence processes is revealed by photoconductivity measurements on pure and doped crystals. The experimental results point to the participation of photogenerated free carriers in the luminescence processes.
