摘要
A scientist-practitioner perspective was used to critique three investigations that either applied or examined Holland's theory of vocational personalities and work environments. A procedure for mapping occupations across the hexagon illustrated the utility of theoretically based work, but underemphasized the importance of group differences. This conclusion was supported by two cultural comparative investigations that addressed the validity of Holland's hexagonal structure across ethnic and cross-cultural samples. The need for greater understanding and sensitivity toward ethnic, cultural, and gender differences was stressed. © 1992.
