EPR OF BEDT-TTF SALTS CONTAINING MAGNETIC ANIONS, CUIIX4(2-), X = CL OR BR

摘要
The EPR of BEDT-TTF salts containing Cu(II)X4(2-), mixed valent [Cu(II)X4(2-) / Cu(I)X2-] and Cu(I)Cl2- are reported. The EPR signals originate from the Cu(II)X4(2-) (d9) ions in the semiconducting salt and from both the Cu moment and the conduction electrons in the highly conducting salt. In the mixed valent salts, only one signal is observed, which is associated with strong interaction between the localised moments on the Cu atoms and the unpaired moments on the organic moiety.
