摘要
Evidence from the laboratory suggests that memory is not capable of recording complete events but, rather, stores fragments of information that are reconstructed and interpreted during remembering. Current views of psychotherapy based on the notion of narrative and memory schemas are discussed as tentative solutions. It is argued that the schematic perspective is a flexible and potentially encompassing framework yet, too global to account for the rich and often inexpressible varieties of information communicated during therapy. Bruner's tripartite model of representation is discussed
