PERFORMANCE OF A PROTOTYPE DETECTOR SYSTEM FOR THERMAL-NEUTRONS BASED ON LASER-STIMULATED LUMINESCENCE

摘要
A prototype of a position sensitive detector system for thermal neutrons utilizing X-ray storage phosphors has been developed. An overview of the functional principle is given and a quantitative characterisation of detector properties such as linearity, dynamic range, neutron and gamma-sensitivity, spatial resolution and detective quantum efficiency is presented. The applicability of the system for neutron radiography is demonstrated.
