LIGHT-SCATTERING BY MAGNONS IN BI2CUO4 SINGLE-CRYSTALS

摘要
The polarized Raman scattering spectra of Bi2CuO4 single crystals were measured at temperatures between 10 and 300 K. In addition to the Raman-active phonon modes, two new structures at 14 and 150 cm-1 appear al temperatures below 50 K. These modes, which are assigned as one- and two-magnon modes, have E(g) symmetry and E(g) and B1g symmetry, respectively. Their temperature dependences agree well with previous results of antiferromagnetic resonance experiments.
