SMALL-ANGLE X-RAY-SCATTERING INVESTIGATIONS OF PORE STRUCTURE CHANGES DURING COAL-GASIFICATION

摘要
The evolution of the internal pore structure and surface area for an anthracite coal char is investigated by small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) for different degrees of CO2 gasification. The SAXS data are interpreted with a model of interpenetrating spherical voids, and show that significant changes in pore structure occur during pyrolysis and up to 7% conversion. Further changes in the scattering behaviour are more gradual. Results obtained at high conversions are affected by scattering from mineral matter. The usefulness of a model to interpret SAXS data is demonstrated. © 1990.
