HIGH-PRESSURE PHASE-TRANSITION IN ALUMINUM NITRIDE

摘要
Self-consistent Linear Muffin-Tin Orbital method is used to investigate the structural properties of AlN under high pressure. There is found the phase transition to the rocksalt structure at the pressure 16.6 GPa. We report a direct experimental observation of the phase transition in AlN. Our experiment locates the phase transition between 16 and 17 GPa which agrees perfectly with the above calculations.
