摘要
Multiwavelength data acquisition for a two-step first-order consecutive reaction was achieved in a single run experiment using a computerized UV-visible scanning spectrophotometer. Nonlinear least square fitting procedures were applied to the spectral data obtained to deduce rate constants and other parameters of the reaction. Since measurements were carried out at around absorption maxima of constituting components and more experimental quantities at different wavelengths are available, kinetics reaction parameters and concentration-time profiles can be determined with higher accuracy than those in the conventional method. The present experimental setup can be adopted for kinetics systems of which components have absorption maxima close to one another or overlapping spectra.
