摘要：

Retrieval of archived drawings on the basis of shape similarity can pose significant problems. This paper discusses possible criteria for the design of an automated shape retrieval system for two-dimensional engineering drawings. It then describes the implementation and evaluation of a prototype system, SAFARI (Shape Analysis For Automatic Retrieval of Images), based on these principles.
