摘要
Viruses can reproduce sexually, Sex in some RNA viruses is so different from sex in eukaryotes that it may have evolved independently. Yet, recent research indicates that sex in both groups can be accounted for by models of either positive or purifying selection. This review appraises the role that these types of selection may have played in the evolution of sex in RNA viruses.
