KINETICS OF STEAM REGENERATION OF VIRGIN AND PHENOL-LOADED ACTIVATED CARBON

摘要
The kinetics of the steam-activated carbon reaction was studied in TGA equipment over a wide range of steam pressure (100-10,000 Pa) and temperature (850-950 degree C) with virgin carbon samples and with samples previously loaded with phenol. No difference was observed in reaction rate between the virgin carbon and the phenol-loaded samples. The experimental data without hydrogen in the feed gas could not be fitted over the whole steam pressure range with the well-known Langmuir-Hinshelwood equation and a single set of rate constants.
