摘要：

During our first field trip (December 26, 1986 to January 8, 1987) i.e. 4 months after August 21, 1986 similar events yet of much weaker intensity, were observed at Lake Nyos. These events were studied by our team of three scientists (Mr. E. Eyike, Provincial Mines and Geology Service, Mr E. Anjenje, his assistant, and myself) and two Cameroon Navy mates, 2nd Master Ndjama Yombi and quarter Master Nsaidzedze Ndzebir. The whole area stricken by the CO2 sheet having been evacuated following the disaster, only these five people witnessed the events of December 30. © 1990.
