摘要
Diuretics remain the most popular antihypertensive agents in the US. Nonetheless, their use over the past 5 years has been falling progressively in large part because of major concerns about their multiple metabolic side effects which have been blamed for the inability to document a significant reduction in coronary disease in the multiple clinical trials wherein they have been the primary agent.1 The litany of these multiple side effects have recently been expanded by the addition of the worsening of insulin resistance. © 1991 by the American Journal of Hypertension, Inc.
