摘要
Experiments are described which demonstrate subharmonic Bragg resonances in the context of linear gravity surface waves propagating on a doubly periodic bottom. The experimental results are found to be in good agreement with the predictions of a numerical model based on the full potential theory of linear waves. The importance of evanescent modes in the interference process is demonstrated. In particular, evanescent modes give rise to a large subharmonic effect even for small bottom modulations.
