摘要
A combined microwave cavity and photographic diagnostic for high-speed projectiles has been developed. The diagnostic allows consistent determination of projectile mass and shape and serves as one fiducial mark for a speed measurement. The 3.219-GHz cavity has been used for experiments with both frozen deuterium and plastic pellets traveling at speeds from 1500-4500 m/s.
